Essence of Modesty in Islam: Wear a Hijab Day Discussion

After the Wear a Hijab experience during the day, be sure to come to the discussion in
the evening led by Sister Humna Shahid to discuss the meaning behind hijab. Her talk
will focus on the nature of modesty in Islam for both men and women.

The Wear a Hijab Challenge is dedicated to exploring the roles and beliefs
of Muslim women and what it means to wear the hijab. The day starts off
with free scarves and cotton candy being passed out to students on the
quad. This gives students the opportunity to understand what a Hijabi (a girl who wears the head scarf) goes through on a daily basis.

Join us in the evening to hear from speaker Omar Hedroug about the
significant role of prayer in Islam. the first of the 5 pillars of the faith/

This is an insightful opportunity to engage in discussion with
MSA members about the topics of the weeks! Come spin the
wheel of topics consisting of prayer, fasting, charity, modesty, and proclamation of faith.


Why Do We Fast?
Time: 6:45 pm
Where: YMCA Latzer Hall
We will be hosting a free interfaith dinner with an engaging
talk from Islamic Foundations North's Imam Azfar on
the importance of fasting and its history.
Admission open to all and free to those attending.

Our last speaker for the week will be brother Wali Khan, who will be
discussing the virtues of charity in Islam, the third of the 5 pillars of
Islam. Charitability and self-sacrifice are important features of the Muslim
character

The Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center (CIMIC) has been supporting Muslims in Central Illinois since 1983. Muslims of all nationalities and cultures come to CIMIC to pray every Friday during the congregational sermon and prayer. Please join us for a tour. We will meet up on the Quad at 12:45pm and walk to CIMIC together. Look for balloons and a sign!
